Jun 24,  · The CD reissue of Jazz At Oberlin, The Dave Brubeck Quartet, Fantasy OJCCD (F), mirrors the 12” LP release with all of the timings essentially the same. The normal procedure at the beginning of the CD era was to remaster the file copy of 12” LP . Reply

This album is unquestionably one of Brubeck's best. Since it was created early in his career, it has drifted out of sight and is no longer heard on jazz stations. This is on vinyl since CDs didn't exist when this was recorded but the sound is warm and gentle and incredibly appealing even on /5(32). Reply

Let "Stardust" introduce you to the Brubeck effect - reduction of stress through the application of Dave, Paul, Joe and Eugene through your ears. I'd recommend this album to both long-time Brubeck aficionados and people who have only heard of "Take Five" or seen Ken Burns' "Jazz" documentary/5(8). Reply

Sep 30,  · I generally tend to avoid live concert recordings, preferring the studio produced recordings but having previously purchased "Jazz Goes to College" a live concert recording by The Dave Brubeck Quartet,(and really enjoy listening to it) I decided to give Jazz at Oberlin a listen. I wasn`t disappointed/5(47). Reply
